Our Mission

At NSK, we treat each and every child as competent and capable individuals. Through play, we help children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively, while helping them learn about the world around them. Through our Reggio inspired program, we create a warm, inclusive, positive environment, one that promotes and fosters exploration and curiosity. Throughout the day, preschoolers will engage in circle time, learning stations, and indoor/outdoor play. We love being partners in their development and discoveries.

Meet the Team

  • Chesdean, RECE (she/her)

Chesdean, Ches, or CHEESE as she is affectionately known has been working in after-school programs, toddler gym classes, camps, and everything in between since 2016. Chesdean has a passion for learning through play and brings her creativity to all the programming at preschool. She constantly goes above and beyond for the children she works with. She loves watching our preschoolers grow, explore, and learn new things. Chesdean holds a BA in Sociology from York University and an Early Childhood Education Diploma from George Brown College. She loves bringing her high energy and positivity to our preschool program.

  • Rick, CYC (they/them)

Since 2016 Rick has worked in after-school clubs, daycares, group homes, shelters, and multiple experiences within the TDSB. They are dedicated to making all children regardless of their abilities feel welcome and included at preschool. Their background in adaptive programming helps our preschoolers meet their individual goals. They love making our members laugh with dramatic stories and silly voices. They hold an Advanced Diploma in Child and Youth Care.

  • Linda, RECE (she/her)

From a young age, Linda always knew she would pursue a career working with children. With 9 years of experience with kids of all ages and abilities, she has played an important role in the growth of many who have crossed her path. Linda helps our preschoolers feel cared for and understood in new environments, assists them in gaining new independent skills, and fosters beautiful friendships. She loves being someone preschoolers feel safe with. She earned her diploma in Early Childhood Education from George Brown College in 2017 and became a crucial part of the NSK team in 2022.

“NSK has been essential in helping my 3 year old get adjusted after the pandemic left her with pretty big deficits socially and emotionally. After months of being lock up at home and told not to get to close to anyone she developed big anxiety around strangers and had very limited experience playing with kids her age. For months, she would cry and/or scream at drop off but the staff NEVER gave up or made us feel bad about the difficulties. She now walks in barely looking back to say goodbye most days. She has transformed into a child that not only likes going to preschool but now asked to see Ches and Rick everyday! I owe so much to their preschool program. My daughter is a real example of their AMAZING ability to connect and foster a great learning experiences.”
